Lights, camera, action....

This year has been a great one for films and I wanted to share with you all my 2012 movie highlights, films that have made me cry, laugh, crawl behind the sofa and never want to watch ever again. So here for you all is my 2012 blogger movie awards, enjoy.

Best Romance

goes to.....

Seeking a friend for the end of the world

This may come as a surprise to some people but when you watch the film you realise this is about two unlikely people finding their soul mate at just the right time. There are some comedic parts in it not just from Steve Carrell but from Keira Knightly as well. The film's story brings this unlikely pair together and it is a beautiful romance that blossoms, even though they only realise it at the very end.

Best Drama

goes to.....

The Perks of being a Wallflower

I only saw this film last night and I could not believe how good it was. It is like the John Hughes style set up where it is focussed on the one character, takes you through high school and looks on all the trial and tribulations of that person's life. It has a very deep and dark story to it which all comes together eventually, this is the John Hughes of our generation.

Best Comedy

goes to .....

21 Jump Street

When I watched the trailer to this film it made me cry so much, with laughter obviously. But then I thought "have they used all the funnies for the trailer?" watched the film and finished with "No!!" this film is hilarious and definately my comedy film of the year. The chemisty between Tatum and Hill is incredible and they really are just a pair of comedic gold talent.

Best Horror/Thriller

goes to.....

The Woman in Black

I saw this as the play production and it scared me numerous amounts of times, I was worried about the film because I thought it would lack what the theatre production would give you but I was wrong again, this freaked me out totally. I did watch it alone on my laptop in my bed and even when my phone buzzed telling me it was fully charged scared me. So, that alone is a good indication that the film did the trick.

Best Action

goes to.....

The Hunger Games

The eagerly anticipated book because a smash hit in the box office and amongst all the fans, I loved this film. I had read the books previously and could not wait to see how Panem would look in all its grandeur and they did not disappoint. I thought the characters were cast incredibly well, Jennifer Lawrence is Katniss Everdeen and Josh Hutcherson is Peeta Mellark. The hunger games scene in its entirety is a seat gripping rollercoaster of a journey and the climax is one that will keep you glued to your seat and now I impatiently wait for 'Catching Fire'

Best Musical

goes to.....

Rock of Ages

As soon as I heard that 'Rock of Ages' was being made into a film I could not hide my excitement, I even had a countdown clock going on my calender until it was released. I actually won a pair of tickets to see any film and I chose 'RoA' to go and spend them. I took my mum along and even she couldn't help but sing along to all the songs and she isn't really a classic rock lover. They had an amazing cast that was being led from the front by Tom Cruise playing Stacee Jaxx. This film took classic rock songs and brought them into the 21st century for people of all ages to enjoy.

What films have been your 2012 highlights?
